ABOUT
MISSION & HISTORY.
RISE (Refugee Inspirational Support Effort) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in order to address the growing mental health crisis amongst refugee and conflict-stricken populations. Through education, art, and skill-building, RISE seeks to instill passion and hope in the lives of those who have been forced to endure the difficulties of conflict and displacement. By partnering with organizations in the United States and on the ground in Kabul, RISE connects mentors and English language tutors to refugees, families, and students still living in Kabul who are in desperate need of support. Every week, tutors meet with their students via Zoom in order to help them improve their English language skills. More importantly, tutors serve as an outlet and a guide for students, helping them set goals, discover new passions, and develop structure and routine in their lives. Our main priority is to instill hope and humanity in the lives of conflict-stricken populations and refugees. We want them to know that, despite their difficulties, they are capable of success.
